About Us
Who is WVACEP?
The WVACEP Board of Directors and the Chapter’s leadership represent a very diverse group of practicing emergency physicians – academicians, private practice physicians, large group, small group, individual physicians, hospital-based groups, board certified, non-board certified, rural, residents, medical students, democrats, republicans and independents. Despite the varied backgrounds, they work together for the common goal of furthering the specialty of emergency medicine in West Virginia. WVACEP IS YOU!
Benefits of Membership
- Information: WV ACEP produces a quarterly newsletter called EPIC, which publishes state emergency medicine news, feature articles, chapter news, and professional opportunities.
- Education: WV ACEP sponsors regular educational programs including the Annual Meeting which is conducted in August of each year and the Annual Conference which is conducted at a location in WV. See home page for upcoming educational offerings.
- Advocacy: WV ACEP represents your interests in state legislative arenas and with a wide range of health organizations. The Chapter tracks emergency medicine related legislation and develops strategies for action. WV ACEP’s key contact network gives members direct contact with legislators for education, interaction, and results.
In addition, WV ACEP provides a mechanism for concerns to be heard with our national organization, ACEP.
- Practice Assistance: You will receive information and support in areas that directly affect your success, including practice management, emergency medical services reimbursement, and physician recruitment.
